THE PATTERN MAP INTENSIVE
Knowing why you react the way you do has never once stopped it.
The Pattern map intensive is for the woman who can already name her pattern and is done collecting reasons it hasn’t changed.
You’ve:
✔ Named the thing you do more precisely than any book ever managed.
✔ Started noticing the exact moment the pattern fires, which is new.
✔ Worked out that noticing it and being free of it are not the same thing.
✔ Quietly begun to wonder whether this is simply your personality and the work now is acceptance.
It isn’t your personality, and acceptance is not the only option left.
You are one level too high on your own pattern: you have named the behavior, and the behavior was never the thing that needed naming.
Why insight isn’t enough
The books gave you insight, but insight describes the pattern. A description has never interrupted anything.
Therapy gave you an understanding of where it comes from. Understanding where something came from does not change 6pm on a Tuesday, when the milk goes over and your voice goes sharp, or you go flat and far away, before you’ve decided anything.
The test gave you a label. A label you never used is one more thing you know about yourself.
Discipline worked on everything else in your life, so you applied more of it here, and it kept coming back the week you got tired. It was always going to. Discipline works on things that are trying to stop, and your pattern is not trying to stop.
Notice that not one of those failed because you did them badly. They failed structurally. Each one was aimed at a different thing than the one that is running.
After 14 years of clinical training and practice, I can tell you the missing piece was never more information about yourself. It is that the driver arrives about two seconds before the behavior, and by the time you can think about it, it is already covered over by a very reasonable explanation. You cannot read that from the inside, however insightful you are.
Introducing
The Pattern Map Intensive
Your pattern named precisely, then interrupted once, with a follow-up session four weeks later to see what held.
Four hours total, one to one, in person on Mondays in the Pittsburgh area, or on Zoom.
That last part is the difference. Feeling different in the room is the easy part. Four weeks later we sit down again and look at an ordinary Tuesday: the bedtime that went sideways, the text you almost didn’t send, what you did in the two seconds before you reacted. That is the work.
The Tool
I use the Enneagram, and I use it as the map rather than the point.
I use the whole system: your type, your instinct, your story, and what your body does before your thinking catches up. Those together tell me what your pattern is protecting, which is the only piece of information that changes anything.
And if you already know your number: knowing your type and working at the level of your type are different activities. Most women who arrive certain of their number are right about it and have never once used it.
This is not therapy. It is structured 1:1 pattern work with someone clinically trained to see it from the outside.
No quizzes, no memes, no surface-level type descriptions.
Not weekly sessions for years when a focused arc moves faster.
What this isn’t:
Core Framework: The Three Phases
1. Precision
We find what your pattern is protecting, rather than what it looks like from outside. This is the part you cannot do alone, and it is most of the work.
You leave this phase with:
your pattern named at the level that matters, usually for the first time, and the relief of hearing it said back exactly right.
2. The Interrupt
You do it once, in the room, deliberately, while I am watching it happen.
You leave this phase with:
direct evidence that the pattern is interruptible, which replaces the belief that this is simply who you are, and the lightness of doing it differently once, on purpose.
3. The Check
Four weeks later we look at what held, what didn’t, and what your ordinary life did with it.
You leave this phase with:
the difference between an insight you had once and a change that is running, and the steadiness of not checking it alone.
A focused block of deep 1:1 work, just the two of us. Because the thing you need seen cannot be seen in fifty-minute pieces spread across a year.
The pattern map intensive session
You leave with it written down, in your own language, not mine. Because insight you cannot find again in six weeks is not insight you own.
your pattern map, documented
The most important item on this list. Because everything shifts in the room, and what matters is what is still true on an ordinary Tuesday.
If a hard stretch is ahead (a holiday, a move, a family visit), we’ll time it to land just after, so we see what held under real pressure.
the follow up session, four weeks later
your pre-work
A short set of questions before we meet, so the session starts from where you are instead of spending the first hour getting there.

“The Reclaimed Woman work I did with Emily has been the most meaningful experience of reflection and self-discovery that I've ever done. Before our first session, she asked me to answer a lengthy set of questions that truly made me think: what really did drive my actions in life? What did I want moving forward?
The process of answering questions was in and of itself helpful for me to truly pause and reflect on myself. But that was just the beginning. Our sessions together pushed me to consider topics and questions I've been avoiding for years, and with Emily's acceptance, understanding, and guidance, I uncovered more about myself than I ever imagined. I felt seen and have a deeper understanding of myself.
Emily helped me articulate who I am, who I have been, and who I want to become. Everyone's journey through enneagram work is different, but Emily will provide you with action steps to move forward on your growth journey.”

“When I first reached out to Emily, I had already done a lot of deep psychological work, but I was feeling stuck and overwhelmed professionally. As a business owner, I was wrestling with clarity and discouraged about how to find it. I knew I needed to change my approach for growing my business but I didn't know how to push forward without burning out.
Before working with Emily, I had tried traditional talk therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Enneagram coaching, and standard career coaching. Every single one of those modalities served a purpose for a specific season. But when I hit this wall, I was looking for something hybrid. Because of Emily's deep understanding of the Enneagram, she was able to grasp the beliefs and patterns shaping my behavior almost immediately.
I'm unstuck, and I have clear direction on what my next steps are in my business. Most importantly, I'm moving forward in a sustainable way that doesn't come at the expense of the personal growth I've worked so hard for. Working with Emily changed how I relate to myself. I'm no longer looking to external sources (or even to her) to tell me what I 'should' be doing. I'm finding that clarity within myself.”

“Last October I was surviving. I was drowning, taking care of my two boys, homeschooling, caring for our home and dogs. Loved ones were telling me I needed to remember to take care of myself, but for as long as I could remember, taking care of everyone else was my life. If everyone else was OK, then I was OK. But it wasn't working anymore.
I was consuming advice from authors, influencers, well-meaning friends and family; desperate for growth and change. I was swinging back-and-forth between old and new ways of trying to control my situation and myself. I was exhausted and burnt out.
Through meeting with Emily I began and continue to identify, have compassion on, and have awareness of my survival patterns that have both provided for me and caused me deep struggles. I developed way more self-worth and gained the confidence and support to be my true self. As an enneagram two, this is very hard for me to do! But it is becoming easier and more natural. Now, I'm able to turn the intense love I feel for my family and friends inwards to myself, also. As a bonus byproduct, my marriage and family life is much healthier. I am beyond grateful.”
I’m Emily Zeller, and I guide high-achieving women through the patterns underneath their reactions.
I have 14 years of clinical training and practice: LMFT, PMH-C, Gottman Level 2, and Chestnut Paes certification in the Enneagram. I type people professionally. A quiz can give you a number. It cannot tell you what that pattern is protecting.
And I am her. A recovering over-functioner, mother of three daughters, who built an identity on being needed and could name that out loud for years before it changed anything. I sat on the floor of my first daughter’s room during colic, certain I was a bad mother, already a therapist, and did not ask a single person for help. I had all the insight. It didn’t move a thing.
That gap is what I work in now.
Here is the objection that is actually in the way, and it is not the money.
It is that four hours, on yourself, with nothing produced at the end of it, feels like the most self-indulgent thing you could possibly do. You can find eight reasons it should wait until things are calmer, and every one of them will sound like good judgment.
I want to name what that is. The instinct to put your own thing last, to wait for a quieter month, to handle it yourself rather than take up someone’s time, is not your scheduling common sense. It is the pattern, making the decision, wearing its most reasonable outfit.
You do not have to be in crisis to deserve four hours. You do not have to have tried everything else first. And the quieter month is not coming, because the pattern that fills your months is the one you’re trying to change.
FAQ
-
Neither. This is consulting: structured 1:1 pattern work. It is not treatment, it does not diagnose anything, and it is not a substitute for therapy if you need it. I am clinically trained and I run a separate clinical practice, and this is deliberately not that. If at any point I think what you need is therapy rather than this, I will tell you plainly.
-
Because your pattern does not show up on a schedule, and fifty minutes a week is mostly spent getting back to where you left off. A focused arc gets to the driver in one pass and then checks it four weeks later, which is when you find out whether anything really moved.
-
Usually it is exactly for you. Knowing your type and working at the level of your type are different things. Most women who arrive certain of their number are correct and have never used it for anything.
-
Fair question, and the honest answer is that self-awareness is what you already have too much of. The Intensive is built so you interrupt the pattern once inside the session rather than leaving with a better description of it. The follow-up four weeks later exists precisely so neither of us can pretend a good conversation was the same as a change.
-
No, and most people who come are not. Functioning well is the usual reason this went unaddressed for so long.
-
That is a completely normal starting point, and the pre-work handles it. “I can’t name it but something keeps happening” is enough to begin with.
-
Yes. The Intensive stands complete on its own, and for women who want to keep going, there’s The Pattern Work, a six-month one-to-one container. If you start within 30 days of your follow-up session, the Intensive becomes the first part of it, so you never pay for the same work twice.
What it can feel like on the other side.
Lighter. The same job, the same kids, the same Tuesday, but you’re no longer bracing for your own reaction. You have room again for the parts of your life that make it feel vibrant, more spacious and YOURS.
Relief. The kind that comes from finally knowing what is happening and what to do about it.
Supported, because you’re not holding it alone. Four weeks later we look at the changes you’ve made and answer any questions you might have.
“I have hope for the first time in a long time.”
